Inactivated Vaccine against Pasteurellosis in sheep and cattle
PASTREVAXTM is an inactivated and adjuvanted vaccine against Pasteurella multocida groups A and D and Mannheimia haemolytica type A1 infections in sheep and cattle.
Each ml of vaccine contains:
Pasteurella multocida group A inactivated ≥0.6 ELISA U. Pasteurella multocida group D inactivated ≥0.6 ELISA U. Mannheimia haemolytica type A1 inactivated ≥ ELISA U. Aluminium (as hydroxide) 1.4mg. Free formaldehyde ≤ 0.5mg
Pasteurellosis is a major, acute and mostly fatal disease of sheep and cattle. It is characterised by acute and highly fata Septicaemia leading to high morbidity and mortality in cattle, while sheep of all ages develop a devastating pneumonia that leads to high mortality. It can be prevented through vaccination of target animals.
For active immunization of healthy cattle and sheep against infections by Pasteurella multocida type A and D and Mannheimia haemolytica.
SPECIALWARNINGS FOR EACH TARGET SPECIES:
Vaccinate only healthy animals.
DOSAGE AND ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION:
Shake well before use. Subcutaneous route in front or behind the shoulder in cattle. Behind the elbow or inner thigh in sheep.
Cattle: Below 100kg : 2ml. Above 100kg : 5ml
Sheep: Below 30kg : 1ml. Above 30kg : 2ml
Vaccination schedule: 2 injections at 4 weeks intervals
Booster: 1 annual injection
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE:
For Veterinary use only. Do not use if seal is broken or package is damaged. Vaccinate only healthy animals. Do not vaccinate stressed animals Apply usual aseptic techniques. Use only clean, antiseptic and/or disinfectant – free equipment for vaccination.
Presence of aluminium hydroxide in the vaccine can sometimes cause the appearance of a transient nodule at the injection site, which regresses within 1 – 2weeks. Vaccination may occasionally reveal hypersensitivity reaction, symptomatic treatment should be given. All vaccines may occasionally cause anaphylactic reactions in some animals. If this occurs adrenaline should be administered.
Store at +40C. (Refrigerator). DO NOT FREEZE. If stored at between +20C and +80 C (refrigerator) the shelf life is one year. Once the vaccine bottle has been broached it must be used immediately and any remaining quantity discarded.
